Almost every trip we build to the south starts in the capital, because that is where the long-haul flights land and where the flights to Patagonia leave from. How many days you have decides how much of the south fits. This is what each length actually buys you.
Two nights in Buenos Aires to land, sleep and see the city, then four in El Calafate for the Perito Moreno Glacier. Seven days covers one region well, and we leave a spare morning around the flights so the glacier day stays protected.
The shortest length we recommend
Two or three nights in the capital, and then two Patagonian bases: El Calafate with Bariloche, or El Calafate with Ushuaia. Ten days gives each base a full day to spare.
The length most of our travellers choose
Buenos Aires, then El Calafate, El Chaltén and Ushuaia, with a rest day between flights. Or swap Ushuaia for Iguazú if you would rather end with the waterfalls.
Enough margin to move a day and keep every highlight
Buenos Aires, the whole of Patagonia and either the northwest, Mendoza or the Chilean side. Long enough that no single day is a transfer day.

Every quote we send lists this in writing, trip by trip. As a rule, this is how a Patagonia package is built.
Hotels selected and checked by our team; private transfers between airports, hotels and excursions; excursions with English-speaking local guides; entrance fees to Los Glaciares and Tierra del Fuego national parks; daily breakfast and the meals marked day by day; a local WhatsApp support line for the whole trip.
International flights to and from Argentina; travel insurance; meals not marked in the itinerary; personal expenses and gratuities; optional activities, which we price in writing beforehand. Domestic flights inside Patagonia are quoted separately or included depending on the package, and your quote states which, with the amount, so the total is clear before you book.
Patagonian wind changes plans, and we plan for it. Every key day has a same-region backup: if the wind closes the glacier boat, you see Perito Moreno from the walkways instead; if the Fitz Roy viewpoint is in cloud, we swap days inside your itinerary. Wherever the schedule allows, we rebook the highlight inside your trip at no extra cost.
