The end of the world is a small town with big things around it. Everything on this page is a day trip, which is why you never change hotel.

Half a day, and the one thing nobody skips

Easy walking, a full day
Ushuaia is the only Patagonian gateway where the sights come to you. No internal transfers, no packing between nights, and the airport is ten minutes from town.

Ushuaia has two seasons and one gap. The summer is about light and water; the winter is about snow. May is the month that is neither.
Days that start before 5 am and end after 10 pm in December. The Beagle Channel sails, the penguins are at the colonies, and the Antarctica season runs from this port.
The season for everything outdoors
Cerro Castor and the cross-country trails, with about seven hours of daylight. No Antarctica departures between June and August, and no penguins.
A different trip, not a worse one
Too late for the boats and the colonies, too early for reliable snow. It is the cheapest month of the year in Ushuaia and the emptiest, and that is the reason.

Months in orange are the two working seasons. April and September are honest shoulders: fewer people, lower prices, and the weather can go either way.
