This Argentina Chile tour through Patagonia and the Atacama Desert brings together some of South America’s most iconic landscapes over 17 days, from glaciers to desert skies. This trip is a perfect match for travelers who want the full range of Argentina and Chile in one journey, from city culture to wild, open landscapes. It starts in Buenos Aires with a city tour and a traditional tango show, then moves south to Ushuaia for off-road adventures through Tierra del Fuego’s lakes and forests. In El Calafate, the journey brings you face to face with the Perito Moreno Glacier and into the traditions of a working Patagonian estancia. From there, the trip crosses into Chile, exploring the towering peaks of Torres del Paine and navigating the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. The final stretch heads north to San Pedro de Atacama, where salt lagoons, rainbow-colored valleys, and some of the clearest night skies on Earth create a striking contrast to the ice fields of the south, before closing the trip in Santiago de Chile.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Buenos Aires.
Today we will pick you up from your hotel to explore the main tourist attractions of Buenos Aires in a tour that covers all the highlights of this cultural metropolis. You will learn about the lifestyle, vibrant culture, and music of the porteños.

We will experience the European atmosphere that has given the city its fame by strolling through eclectic neighborhoods. According on your arrival time, you can explore the town or visit one of its curious museums, like the Thematic Gallery of the Historia Fueguina, to see the more than 120 character life-size figures that will tell you all about the history of Ushuaia, or unearth the story of the scariest and dangerous criminals at the Prison Museum. And please, don't forget the local gastronomy! Ushuaia is the best place to eat seafood. We suggest you try the finger-licking Blake Hake.
Today, you will have a day at leisure to enjoy Ushuaia.
At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel to head towards the Lakes. We will cross a glacial valley to the northeast towards the Garibaldi Pass, the only road pass that crosses the Fuegian Andes range. From the heights of the mountain range, we will spot Lake Escondido, which we will then travel along Route 3. Near the northern end of the lake, we will begin a journey along the old roads of a sawmill that will soon turn into impassable trails for conventional vehicles, leading us to Lake Fagnano. In the forest near the shore, we will have free time to walk and explore while lunch is being prepared, which we will enjoy in a shelter located in a natural environment. Afterwards, we will return to Ushuaia and drop you off at your hotel. Note: During the winter season (July to September), there may be changes to the itinerary due to weather conditions.
Note: Due to weather conditions, occasionally, if logistics allow, one of the sections to or from the place where the 4x4 adventure takes place may be done by minibus for the convenience and comfort of the passengers. The order and schedule of activities may change as the tour progresses. Between October and June, the schedule varies according to the length of the days.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to start the journey to the End of the World through the National Park.
After a drive of between 25 and 40 minutes, inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park, we will arrive at Ensenada Zaratiegui, also known as Bahía Ensenada. There, where the post office of the end of the world is located, we will take a short circular walk along the beach and through the forest, appreciating views of Round Island and the Chilean coast, on the other side of the Beagle Channel.
We will continue by vehicle to Lake Acigami, Laguna Verde, Rio Ovando, Cormorants Archipelago, and also Lapataia Bay: the end of all roads in America. At these points of interest, we will take advantage of the time to the fullest by taking short and low-intensity hikes.
After the scenic tour, we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a heated, comfortable, and very spacious refuge. Once we are done, we will take you back to your hotel.
Note: From May to September during winter there might be changes on the itinerary due to weather conditions.
Note: the timing of the activities, and their order may vary, as the actual development of the tour depends on the guide’s decisions based on the group’s specific conformation and the evaluation of the conditions for the tour.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in El Calafate.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to embark on a journey aboard the traditional María Turquesa Cruise, where you will enjoy an exclusive box lunch facing the Upsala Glacier.
We will embark from the private port La Soledad, from where the cruise will sail towards Brazo Norte. We will visit Bahía Escuadra and the Condoreras Wall, passing by the Seco, Heim, and Spegazzini Glaciers. A tranquil voyage will highlight incredible panoramic views that can be appreciated from the upper deck of the vessel.
The route will continue until we reach Puesto de las Vacas, where we can disembark for a one-hour hike through the Patagonian Andean forest, learning about the lifestyle before the establishment of the National Park.
Navigation will proceed towards the Upsala Channel. Facing the Upsala Glacier and Bertacchi Glacier, you will enjoy a gourmet meal with the best view.
Finally, we will head to the Iceberg Channel, navigating past the north face of the Perito Moreno Glacier, before returning to port.
Upon disembarking, a transfer will take you back to your hotel.
Note: The itinerary is subject to changes at the captain's discretion to ensure the safety of the passengers.

Upon arrival, we will be greeted with a hot beverage accompanied by homemade pastries while enjoying a magnificent view of the Andes Mountains. We will then walk towards the pens to witness milking and herding the sheep to the pastures.
The tour will conclude at the old shearing shed, now a small historical museum, where we will observe a demonstration of traditional scissor shearing as it was done before the advent of mechanical shears. Nearby, riders will be waiting at the pens to conduct a rein test or engage in other rural activities of the day.
We will return to the quincho, where the spit-roasted lamb will be ready for the table. After lunch, there will be free time until it's time to return to El Calafate.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Puerto Natales.

We will visit the Milodon Cave, a natural monument with three caves and rock formations. Afterwards, we will admire the impressive Laguna Amarga and the iconic Cuernos del Paine.
We will also visit Salto Grande, the largest waterfall in the park, and enjoy a scenic walk along the Paine River. Finally, we will marvel at the floating icebergs on Grey Lake while having lunch with a breathtaking view.
At the end, we will return to Puerto Natales and drop you off at your hotel.
We will depart in the morning from your hotel and head to Muelle Bories, where we will board our boat to Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, the largest park in Chile. During the navigation, we will see the vegetation covering the mountains, waterfalls formed by the thaw, and cormorants and sea lions in the Patagonian channel.
The first glacier we will see is Balmaceda, which comes down from the mountain of the same name and has experienced significant retreat. In Puerto Toro, we will walk about one kilometer through a native forest. We will follow the shore of a lake formed by the melting glacier, admiring the floating icebergs from the Serrano Glacier until we reach its front wall. You will enjoy a snack with ancient ice and then a Magellanic lamb roast at a typical Patagonian estancia.
After lunch, we will take you back to your hotel.
Note: Navigation subject to weather conditions.
At the specified time, you will be transferred to the Puerto Natales Airport.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
In the afternoon, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin the visit to Cejar Lagoon, located 30 km from San Pedro de Atacama.
The Atacama Salt Flat is the largest salt deposit in Chile and is formed by an enclosed basin that receives water from the San Pedro River and multiple ravines where it seeps in from the mountains. Inside the salt flat, we find the Cejar Lagoon, a beautiful and mystical turquoise-colored lagoon. Its high salt content creates a flotation effect, providing a relaxing and fun bathing experience.
Next, we will visit the Ojos del Salar, a small deep oasis of fresh water. These are two lagoons whose water comes from underground aquifers, surrounded by salt and some grasslands that foxes and flamingos use as hiding places.
Finally, we will visit Tebenquiche Lagoon, which is mostly dry, but its surface is not made of earth, mud, and rocks; instead, its plain is completely white and shines due to the salt crystals.
After the excursion, we will take you back to your hotel.
In the morning, we will pick you up from the hotel to enjoy a tour to the Rainbow Valley. This magical place was formed by tectonic movements and volcanic activity millions of years ago, serving as a meeting point between the Domeyko mountain range, the Salt mountain range, and the Andes.
You will witness a variety of colors in the valley hills, showcasing the richness of clays, salts, and minerals. The tour also includes a visit to the Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs, significant for their historical and geological value.
After the tour, we will drop you off in the center of Atacama, from where you can make your way back to the hotel.
At the designated time, you will make your way to the Meteorite Museum, our meeting point, to participate in an astronomy, planetary geology, and deep space astrophotography experience.
From Tuesday to Sunday, the museum is open, and you can join a guided tour where you'll interact with real meteorites collected from the Atacama Desert, cosmic rocks that narrate the formation processes of our solar system. If the museum is not open or you prefer not to take the tour, you can still see the best pieces on display at the observatory.
Then, using state-of-the-art telescopes, we will explore the deep sky, from planets to galaxies (depending on the time of year), and you will learn to connect the constellations of the southern hemisphere with the help of the guide and a laser pointer. You can keep this experience as a memory in an impressive photo under the stars.
At the end of the experience, a transportation service will take you back to your hotel.
Note: Please note that in case of clouds or bad weather, the activity will be suspended.

I had a wonderful trip and would do it again in a heartbeat! Eva helped me plan everything and was always available before and during my trip to answer questions. She tailored accommodations and travel times within the country to make my visit relaxed and enjoyable at the same time. I felt a sincere desire in her to provide me with the best experience. I also appreciated the driver they chose for me, Eduardo. He was not only trustworthy but also very knowledgeable about the area highlights and history. I would highly recommend Argentina Pura and Eva to anyone who would like to visit Argentina.
It has been a positive experience working with Argentina Pura from the first engagement when I filled the form on their website till the time we’ve returned back home. They were quick to respond and helped to tailor a well planned trip. It was challenging to include all the destinations I asked for in the time we had for the trip, and yet they managed to do it in the most efficient and enjoyable way. What was more amazing was how smoothly everything ran. All the flights were on time, the transfers, the excursions. It was well organized and the team was highly professional, friendly, knowledgeable and spoke English extremely well. We had the most amazing time in Argentina and big part of it is thanks to the professionalism of this agency. Highly recommended!
