Buenos Aires – El Calafate: Flying South to Patagonia

This morning you say goodbye to Buenos Aires and board your flight south to El Calafate, the gateway to Patagonia. Upon landing, you'll be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the day free to explore this charming town on the shores of Lake Argentino — the largest lake in Argentine Patagonia. El Calafate is known as the capital of the glaciers, and tomorrow you'll understand why.

El Calafate: Los Glaciares National Park — Perito Moreno Glacier (Full Day)

One of the great natural spectacles on Earth awaits. Perito Moreno Glacier — 5 kilometers wide and rising 60 meters above the surface of Lake Argentino — groans and calves in real time as you watch from the iconic network of walkways and viewing platforms. You'll then board a boat to sail along the glacier's towering face, close enough to feel the cold radiating off centuries of compressed ice. This is one of the few glaciers in the world that is still advancing.

El Calafate – Puerto Iguazú: Flying to the Jungle

Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the day to settle in and enjoy the tropical atmosphere of this lush, humid corner of Argentina.

Puerto Iguazú: Iguazú National Park — Argentine Side (Full Day)

This morning you head into Iguazú National Park to experience the falls from the Argentine side. The subtropical forest surrounding the park is home to diverse wildlife including toucans, parrots, and coatis. A system of walkways and platforms brings you face-to-face with the falls at every angle — and ultimately to the edge of Devil's Throat, the most powerful and dramatic section of this extraordinary natural wonder.

While the Argentine side puts you inside the falls, the Brazilian side reveals their full, breathtaking scale — the panoramic views from the walkways show you what you couldn't see from within. Don't forget your passport for the border crossing. In the afternoon, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires, where the evening is yours to enjoy in the city.

Frequently asked questions

The tour covers three nights in Buenos Aires, two nights in El Calafate, and two nights in Puerto Iguazú, with all transfers, daily breakfasts, and the tours described in the itinerary included. A bilingual English/Spanish guide accompanies you throughout. The tango dinner show in Buenos Aires and the Perito Moreno Glacier tour and cruise are also included. Domestic flights between cities are not included in the base price but can be arranged on request.

Yes — to visit the Brazilian side of the falls you will cross an international border, so a valid passport is required. Citizens of Australia, Canada, the United States, and Japan need a visa to enter Brazil. We strongly recommend checking your country's requirements with the Brazilian Consulate well before your travel date. To visit the Brazilian side on Day 7, you must arrive into Puerto Iguazú by 11:30 a.m. or earlier, so flight timing matters.

The tour operates from October through April, which is the ideal season for both Patagonia and Iguazú Falls. During this period, weather conditions are most favorable for outdoor activities across all three destinations. Iguazú Falls can be visited year-round, but the Patagonian section is best between October and April when access to Los Glaciares National Park is fully open. We recommend booking in advance, particularly for December and January travel.

This is a low-to-moderate itinerary suitable for most travelers. The Perito Moreno Glacier visit involves walking the park's boardwalk network and a boat cruise — no hiking required. The Iguazú Falls tours are full days on foot along well-maintained park walkways in a subtropical environment, so comfortable shoes and sun protection are essential. The tango show and city tour in Buenos Aires are entirely relaxed. No previous hiking or adventure experience is needed.
