Prices are per person, from, for the 2026 to 2027 season. Per day is a comparison aid, not how the trip is billed. Every itinerary is tailor-made and quoted individually.
Southern right whales come into Golfo Nuevo and Golfo San José, on either side of Península Valdés, to breed. That is the entire Argentine Patagonian whale season in one place, roughly seven hundred kilometres from anything else on a Patagonia itinerary. Which is why every trip on this page ends up in the same town.
The whales enter the gulf from June, calve inside it and leave through December. Boats go out from Puerto Pirámides on the peninsula, and the animals routinely come to the boat rather than the other way round.
June to December
Fifteen kilometres north of Puerto Madryn the seabed drops away close to shore, so mothers and calves come within metres of the beach. It costs nothing, it needs no booking, and in September and October it is the better sighting.
From the sand
The orcas that beach themselves to take sea lion pups at Punta Norte work a narrow window around February to April, outside the right whale season entirely. If that is what you came for, the calendar is not the same.

The Buenos Aires to Trelew or Puerto Madryn flight is quoted separately or included depending on the package, and your quote states which, with the amount, so the total is clear before you book.
Whales, penguins and sea lions keep their own calendar, and the sea has the last word on a boat departure. If wind holds the whale watching boat, we move it to the next window inside your stay and use the Punta Loma sea lion colony or the El Doradillo shore, where whales come close enough to watch from the beach. Wherever the schedule allows, we rebook the highlight inside your trip at no extra cost.
