Itinerary

Welcome to Ushuaia!

Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. According on your arrival time, you can explore the town or visit one of its curious museums, like the Thematic Gallery of the Historia Fueguina, to see the more than 120 character life-size figures that will tell you all about the history of Ushuaia, or unearth the story of the scariest and dangerous criminals at the Prison Museum. And please, don't forget the local gastronomy! Ushuaia is the best place to eat seafood. We suggest you try the finger-licking Blake Hake. Distance: approx 4 km Duration: approx 10 min

Today, you will have a day at leisure to enjoy Ushuaia.

Full-Day Lakes Off-Road

At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel to head towards the Lakes. We will cross a glacial valley to the northeast towards the Garibaldi Pass, the only road pass that crosses the Fuegian Andes range. From the heights of the mountain range, we will spot Lake Escondido, which we will then travel along Route 3.

Near the northern end of the lake, we will begin a journey along the old roads of a sawmill that will soon turn into impassable trails for conventional vehicles, leading us to Lake Fagnano. In the forest near the shore, we will have free time to walk and explore while lunch is being prepared, which we will enjoy in a shelter located in a natural environment.

Afterwards, we will return to Ushuaia and drop you off at your hotel.

Note: During the winter season (July to September), there may be changes to the itinerary due to weather conditions.

  • Operation: The summer version of this excursion runs from October to June. The winter version of this excursion runs from July to September.

 

Note: Due to weather conditions, occasionally, if logistics allow, one of the sections to or from the place where the 4x4 adventure takes place may be done by minibus for the convenience and comfort of the passengers. The order and schedule of activities may change as the tour progresses. Between October and June, the schedule varies according to the length of the days.

Half-Day Tierra del Fuego National Park

In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to start the journey to the End of the World through the National Park.

After a drive of between 25 and 40 minutes, inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park, we will arrive at Ensenada Zaratiegui, also known as Bahía Ensenada. There, where the post office of the end of the world is located, we will take a short circular walk along the beach and through the forest, appreciating views of Round Island and the Chilean coast, on the other side of the Beagle Channel. We will continue by vehicle to Lake Acigami, Laguna Verde, Rio Ovando, Cormorants Archipelago, and also Lapataia Bay: the end of all roads in America. At these points of interest, we will take advantage of the time to the fullest by taking short and low-intensity hikes. After the scenic tour, we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a heated, comfortable, and very spacious refuge. Once we are done, we will take you back to your hotel.

Note: From May to September during winter there might be changes on the itinerary due to weather conditions.

Note: the timing of the activities, and their order may vary, as the actual development of the tour depends on the guide’s decisions based on the group’s specific conformation and the evaluation of the conditions for the tour.

Transfer El Calafate Airport / El Calafate Hotel

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in El Calafate.

  • Duration: Approx 30 minutes
  • Distance: Approx 20 km.

Full-Day Navigation Gourmet Glaciers

In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to embark on a journey aboard the traditional María Turquesa Cruise, where you will enjoy an exclusive box lunch facing the Upsala Glacier.

We will embark from the private port La Soledad, from where the cruise will sail towards Brazo Norte. We will visit Bahía Escuadra and the Condoreras Wall, passing by the Seco, Heim, and Spegazzini Glaciers. A tranquil voyage will highlight incredible panoramic views that can be appreciated from the upper deck of the vessel.

The route will continue until we reach Puesto de las Vacas, where we can disembark for a one-hour hike through the Patagonian Andean forest, learning about the lifestyle before the establishment of the National Park.

Navigation will proceed towards the Upsala Channel. Facing the Upsala Glacier and Bertacchi Glacier, you will enjoy a gourmet meal with the best view. Finally, we will head to the Iceberg Channel, navigating past the north face of the Perito Moreno Glacier, before returning to port.

Upon disembarking, a transfer will take you back to your hotel.

  • Duration: approx. 8/9 hours
  • Included: Access to Classic Cabin. Gourmet box lunch with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Not included: Entrance fee to the National Park (paid in cash in Argentine pesos).
  • Difficulty: Hike easy to moderate.
  • Restrictions: Trekking trail not suitable for wheelchair users. Those who do not wish to or are not able to participate in the hike may stay on board.
  • Dietary restrictions: Please inform us in advance of any dietary preferences or restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, celiac, allergies, etc.)
  • Operation: From September 2024 to late April 2025, daily departures. Departures from May 2025 onwards are not yet confirmed.

Full-Day Estancia Nibepo Aike

At the appointed time, we will pick you up from your hotel to go to Nibepo Aike, one of the most famous ranches in Patagonia, formerly dedicated to sheep farming and now transformed into the most prestigious Hereford cattle ranch in these latitudes.

Upon arrival, we will be greeted with a hot beverage accompanied by homemade pastries while enjoying a magnificent view of the Andes Mountains. We will then walk towards the pens to witness milking and herding the sheep to the pastures.

The tour will conclude at the old shearing shed, now a small historical museum, where we will observe a demonstration of traditional scissor shearing as it was done before the advent of mechanical shears. Nearby, riders will be waiting at the pens to conduct a rein test or engage in other rural activities of the day.

We will return to the quincho, where the spit-roasted lamb will be ready for the table. After lunch, there will be free time until it's time to return to El Calafate.

Transfer El Calafate Hotel / Puerto Natales

At the specified time, you will be transferred to Puerto Natales.

Full-Day Torres del Paine Classic

We will depart in the morning from your hotel to take you to Torres del Paine National Park, which was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978 and belongs to Chile's National System of Protected Wildlife Areas.

We will visit the Milodon Cave, a natural monument with three caves and rock formations. Afterwards, we will admire the impressive Laguna Amarga and the iconic Cuernos del Paine.

We will also visit Salto Grande, the largest waterfall in the park, and enjoy a scenic walk along the Paine River. Finally, we will marvel at the floating icebergs on Grey Lake while having lunch with a breathtaking view.

At the end, we will return to Puerto Natales and drop you off at your hotel.

Full-Day Navigation Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciers

We will depart in the morning from your hotel and head to Muelle Bories, where we will board our boat to Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, the largest park in Chile.

During the navigation, we will see the vegetation covering the mountains, waterfalls formed by the thaw, and cormorants and sea lions in the Patagonian channel.

The first glacier we will see is Balmaceda, which comes down from the mountain of the same name and has experienced significant retreat. In Puerto Toro, we will walk about one kilometer through a native forest. We will follow the shore of a lake formed by the melting glacier, admiring the floating icebergs from the Serrano Glacier until we reach its front wall.

You will enjoy a snack with ancient ice and then a Magellanic lamb roast at a typical Patagonian estancia. After lunch, we will take you back to your hotel.

Full-Day Land of Shepherds: Visit to a Patagonian Estancia

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel and head to Cerro Castillo, in the Torres del Paine district, where you will enjoy an authentic Patagonian ranch experience alongside a family that has dedicated generations to sheep and cattle farming.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the Cárdenas Rodríguez family, who will share their traditions, knowledge, and way of life as Patagonian shepherds. During the visit, you will witness a sheepdog demonstration, observing how these skilled dogs work alongside shepherds to manage flocks across the vast estancia landscapes.

The experience continues with the Wool Tour, an activity that offers an up-close look at traditional ranching practices. You will learn about sheep handling, watch a sheep-shearing demonstration, and visit the spinning workshop, where you will discover the different stages of artisanal wool processing, from washing the fleece to transforming it into textile products.

Before lunch, you will enjoy an appetizer while taking in the rural scenery of Cerro Castillo. Afterwards, you will share a traditional Patagonian criollo lunch featuring lamb, potatoes, salad, pebre, and wine, a perfect opportunity to savor some of the region's most representative flavors.
At the end of the experience, we will return to Puerto Natales and drop you off at your hotel.
