A week is where Buenos Aires stops being a stopover

Most people give the city two or three nights on the way to somewhere else, and that is enough for the landmarks. Seven days is a different proposition: it is the length at which the delta, the pampas and the crossing to Uruguay all fit, and at which you stop sightseeing and start living there for a while.

The city needs three

The rest is the region

San Telmo, Recoleta, La Boca and Palermo come to about three working days. Everything after that is the province and the river, which is where a week gets interesting rather than repetitive.

Three days, then out

Across the river

Colonia is a different country

An hour by fast ferry puts you in Uruguay, in a colonial town that is quiet in exactly the way Buenos Aires is not. It is the easiest border crossing in South America and it makes the week feel much longer.

One ferry, one passport

The pampas

A day, and it is worth it

An estancia within two hours of the city gives you the horses, the asado and the flat horizon that the country is built on. It is the single day out that most changes what people think Argentina is.

Where the flat country starts

The shorter stay is at 4 days in Buenos Aires, the estancia day at Argentina ranch vacations, and the crossing at Argentina and Uruguay tours.

Buenos Aires in 7 Days Hoilday FAQ's

Start with city landmarks like Plaza de Mayo and San Telmo. Dedicate a day each to La Boca, Recoleta, and Palermo. Plan a day trip to Tigre Delta for a different experience. Allocate time for exploring local markets, enjoying a tango show, and trying various Argentine cuisines.

Yes, a trip to Tigre Delta is a refreshing break from the city. You can reach Tigre by train from Buenos Aires, which takes about an hour. The delta offers boat tours, nature walks, and artisan markets.

Attend a live tango performance, visit the Teatro Colón, explore the vibrant street art in Palermo, and experience the bustling San Telmo Market. Each of these experiences provides a deeper understanding of Buenos Aires' culture.

Explore lesser-known neighborhoods like Caballito and Belgrano for their local atmosphere. Visit the El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookstore and the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) for unique cultural experiences.

Buenos Aires has an extensive public transportation system including buses and the Subte (subway), which are efficient for getting around. Taxis and rideshare services are also readily available. For a more scenic experience, consider renting a bike to explore areas like Palermo and Puerto Madero.

What Your Buenos Aires Trip Includes

Every quote we send lists this in writing, trip by trip. As a rule, this is how a Buenos Aires package is built.

Included

In every package

Hotels selected and checked by our team; private transfers between airports, hotels and excursions; excursions with English-speaking local guides; entrance fees to the museums, shows and tastings listed in your itinerary; daily breakfast and the meals marked day by day; a local WhatsApp support line for the whole trip.

Not included

Said upfront

International flights to and from Argentina; travel insurance; meals not marked in the itinerary; personal expenses and gratuities; optional activities, which we price in writing beforehand. Domestic flights on to other regions are quoted separately or included depending on the package, and your quote states which, with the amount, so the total is clear before you book.

Rain in Buenos Aires does not cost you a day

The city works in any weather, and that is the advantage of starting here. If a storm closes the delta boat at Tigre or an open air walk, we move to the indoor half of your itinerary the same day: Teatro Colón, MALBA, a tango hall with dinner or a Palermo tasting. Wherever the schedule allows, we rebook the highlight inside your trip at no extra cost.

Tell us when you can travel. We will build the route.
