Buenos Aires runs late, and that is the thing to plan around with children

Restaurants fill at ten, playgrounds are busy at nine in the evening and Argentine children are out with their parents until midnight. It is a genuinely child friendly city, just not on a northern European timetable. Itineraries that ignore that end up with everyone tired and eating badly at seven.

The clock

Late lunch, later dinner

Shift the day rather than fight it: a slow morning, lunch at two, something outdoors in the afternoon and dinner at eight or nine, which here counts as early. Doing it the other way round means empty restaurants and a family running on the wrong clock.

Move the whole day back

What works

Water, animals and football

Tigre and the delta, the ecological reserve on the riverfront, the parks in Palermo and a match if the fixture allows. The city has more open space than its reputation suggests and children need it after the museums.

Outdoors beats indoors

The estancia

The day they will talk about

A working ranch within two hours of the city, with horses, an asado and space to run. It is the single best day out of Buenos Aires with children and it is the one that turns the trip into a story.

The day out that lands

The active days are at Buenos Aires adventures, the ranch day at Buenos Aires estancias, and the city in full at Buenos Aires tours.

Absolutely! Buenos Aires boasts several parks ideal for families, such as Palermo Woods, which offers ample green space for picnics and outdoor activities, and the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve, perfect for nature walks and bird watching.

Yes, families can immerse themselves in Argentine culture through various activities. These include attending a child-friendly tango show, exploring the historic El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookstore, and visiting cultural centers like Usina del Arte, which often hosts family-oriented events and workshops.

Buenos Aires caters to all tastes with a wide range of dining options. Family-friendly restaurants offer traditional Argentine cuisine, including famous steaks and empanadas, as well as international dishes. Many restaurants are equipped with play areas for children.

Navigating Buenos Aires with children is quite manageable. The city's public transport system, including buses and the subway (Subte), is family-friendly. What Your Buenos Aires Trip Includes

Every quote we send lists this in writing, trip by trip. As a rule, this is how a Buenos Aires package is built.

Included

In every package

Hotels selected and checked by our team; private transfers between airports, hotels and excursions; excursions with English-speaking local guides; entrance fees to the museums, shows and tastings listed in your itinerary; daily breakfast and the meals marked day by day; a local WhatsApp support line for the whole trip.

Not included

Said upfront

International flights to and from Argentina; travel insurance; meals not marked in the itinerary; personal expenses and gratuities; optional activities, which we price in writing beforehand. Domestic flights on to other regions are quoted separately or included depending on the package, and your quote states which, with the amount, so the total is clear before you book.

Rain in Buenos Aires does not cost you a day

The city works in any weather, and that is the advantage of starting here. If a storm closes the delta boat at Tigre or an open air walk, we move to the indoor half of your itinerary the same day: Teatro Colón, MALBA, a tango hall with dinner or a Palermo tasting. Wherever the schedule allows, we rebook the highlight inside your trip at no extra cost.
