Everything about a weekend out of Buenos Aires comes down to two flights. These are the three things we settle before we suggest a destination, and they are the reason some escapes work on a normal weekend and others need a day off.
Iguazu, Mendoza, Bariloche, and Cordoba all have flights out of Aeroparque after 18:00 on a Friday. Where that flight exists, the weekend starts on Friday night and you wake up there. Where it does not, you are giving up a Saturday morning.

A Sunday flight at 09:00 costs you the best day of the trip. We plan for the evening return where the route has one, so Sunday is a full day and you land in time to sleep at home.
The return time is on the quote, not a surprise.
Buenos Aires itself, and the river towns across from it, need no airport. If the calendar is tight or the flights are full, these are the escapes that still work, and they start the moment you close your laptop.
