In three days at Iguazu Falls, you can thoroughly immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of this natural spectacle. Devote the first day to the Argentine side, exploring its extensive trails and the impressive Garganta del Diablo. On the second day, visit the Brazilian side for panoramic views and a helicopter tour for a bird’s-eye perspective. The third day is perfect for engaging in additional activities such as a boat trip to the base of the falls, wildlife spotting in the surrounding rainforest, or visiting the nearby Parque das Aves, a vibrant bird park. This itinerary allows you to fully appreciate the falls’ grandeur and explore the rich ecosystem that surrounds them.

One full day on the Argentine side and a morning on the Brazilian side covers the waterfalls completely, and after that you have seen them. What the third day buys is the province they sit in: the forest, the birds, the Jesuit ruins and the red roads, none of which anybody arrives expecting.
A morning on the jungle trail and an afternoon on the water above the falls, which is where the wildlife actually is. Nothing on this day involves a walkway or a queue.
For the wildlife
A rescue centre in the forest outside Puerto Iguazú where the toucans, harpy eagles and parrots that stayed invisible in the canopy are close enough to photograph, with the story of how each one arrived.
For the close look
The Jesuit mission ruins are the most complete in the country, and the road there runs through the iron red soil that gives Misiones its colour. It is a long day and it is a different Argentina.
For the history
The two-day version is at Iguazú from Buenos Aires, the guided detail at guided Iguazú tours, and the park in full at Iguazú Falls tours.
