Experience a 14-day journey through Santiago and Mendoza, Chile and Argentina’s premier wine regions. Discover historic cities, breathtaking landscapes, and world-renowned wineries. From Santiago’s vibrant culture and Maipo Valley’s fine wines to Mendoza’s Malbec vineyards and Uco Valley’s elegance, enjoy guided tours, tastings, and gourmet cuisine. Conclude with Buenos Aires’ charm and gaucho traditions.
We will explore the countryside of Buenos Aires and learn all about the gauchos and ranch life on the Pampas in an exciting full-day tour that includes visits to a historical rural town and silversmith museum, visits to a ranch, loads of food and wine, dancing, horseback-riding, and a display of gaucho horse skills. We will dive into a completely different world as we travel to San Antonio de Areco, a small town dating back to 1730 known as “the cradle of culture and tradition” in Argentina. Once in Areco, we will visit the Draghi museum, a family-run operation featuring some of the best silversmiths in the world. Upon arrival at El Ombú ranch, we will be greeted with joy by the gauchos and served welcome drinks and some of the best empanadas (local pasties) we will ever eat. We strongly suggest “coming to this tour hungry,” as for lunch, we will be treated to a real Argentinean meat feast featuring the national dish: asado. To wrap up such a wonderful and authentic Argentine experience, one of the gauchos will delight us with a demonstration of how he tames his horse and the confidence they have in each other in an unconventional horse whispering display.
