Once on the mainland, you arrive at the refuge where the guides organize groups of up to 20 people and the excursion through the forest in the direction of the glacier begins. Before entering the ice, the guides equip the participants with the necessary crampons.

The journey over the glacier lasts approximately an hour and a half, during which you can admire cracks, sinkholes and small lagoons. The route is moderate and takes place on an irregular ice surface, although firm and safe. Finally, the return to the port includes an approach to the imposing walls of the glacier.

It is a medium-difficulty trekking that lasts approximately eight hours, since the duration depends on the physical state of each one.

The ideal is to get to the Laguna de los Tres, from where you have the best view of Fitz Roy. The trail offers intermediate panoramic spots and there are short options for those who don't want to walk so much.
