Fishing and Glaciers: Discovering Calafate’s Natural Beauty | 4 Day Trip

We left in the morning from the city of El Calafate and after a journey of 80 km we arrived at the footbridge sector in front of the Perito Moreno glacier. The walkways have balconies at different levels and angles connected by paths and staircases which can be covered in their entirety during the excursion and thus be able to appreciate this imposing glacier from different points. This day, you will also enjoy a 1-hour navigation through the Rich Arm of Lake Argentino, where you approach about 150 meters from the southern wall of the glacier. (Group browsing).

The service includes transfers, guides, necessary equipment for fly cast or spinning mode, wader, wading shoe, rods, lures, reel, lunch, cheese board and cold cuts, chorizo steak with salad, red wine and water. If the client wishes, the menu can be changed with prior notice. No previous experience is necessary, the guide gives you the advice for the activity. The activity is carried out from the shore, lake or river wading mode. Fishing areas are approx. 50 min. from El Calafate. The place is determined by the guide (river or lake) depending a lot on climatic factors. The catches, depending on the area, can be of trout: rainbow, lake, brown, Fontinalis or perch; normal sizes between 500 gr to 2 kg. Catch and release is required.

Fishing areas: Rivers: Rico, Santa Cruz or Pelque. Lakes: Roca or Argentino. During the transfer we contemplate landscape, flora and fauna where the guide transmits his knowledge of the area and if the client requires it we stop to take pictures. The excursion is customized, we have 4x4 vehicles.
