Adventure in La Rioja | 4 Day Trip

Excursion to Laguna Brava: In Circuit ble scenic beauty of a day-long ascent of the Andes Mountains through 2 Very different ravines, La Quebrada de La Troya and the multicolored Quebrada del Peñón up to the vast Altiplano at more than 4,000 meters above sea level, where Laguna Brava is located, surrounded by numerous volcanic peaks, inserted in a high Andean region that has been declared a “Vicuña Reserve” and a RAMSAR site for the protection of this species, flora and fauna. We left Villa Unión at 8.30 a.m., visiting Vinchina, the Diaguitas Stars, the impressive geological folds of the Quebrada de La Troya, Jagüe, the last town and historic refuges, ascending the Cordillera through the multicolored Quebrada del Peñón with breathtaking panoramic views, to the Laguna Brava Reserve at 4200 meters above sea level. Tour of the surrounding area, Flamingos Bay and other various attractions, with a sighting of vicuña and guanacos troupes. In the afternoon, return to the Hotel in Villa Unión, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Departure from Villa Unión to Talampaya National Park. We traveled in vehicles from the Park in groups through the 2.5-hour “Talampaya Canyon” circuit, venturing through the bed of the Seco del Tala River, among straits and imposing 150 m high cliffs of the grand canyon, with 4 stops, observing petroglyphs, palpable evidence of the passage of ancient inhabitants of the region, vegetation representative of the Mountain, native fauna and various geo-forms carved by erosion over millions of years, such as the wise man, the Gothic cathedral, the tower and the Monk, among others. Then you can choose to take an extra circuit such as “Rainbow Canyon” lasting 3 hours with a picturesque 45-minute walk through a multicolored canyon. In the afternoon transfer to Hotel in La Rioja.

Overnight in La Rioja: Naindo Park Hotel La Rioja (or similar).
