What to do in San Antonio de Areco

One of the most important places to visit in this town is the Museo Gauchesco Ricardo Güiraldes, which houses a great variety of objects and souvenirs related to the history and gaucho culture of the area. It is also advisable to visit some of the historical estancias of the town, such as the Estancia La Porteña, which offers a unique experience to learn more about the rural life and history of the area.

El Pueblo De Vagues: it is located about 7 kilometres away from the centre of San Antonio de Areco and its population is around 100 inhabitants. It offers a hotel service in case you want to stay for more than one day, restaurants and antique shops.

El Pueblo De Villa Lía: this town invites you to go back to the roots by enjoying the rural life, the historical façades, the homemade meals and the activities in nature.
There is also a museum, Los Rostros de la Pampa, and a cultural centre, as well as the picturesque San José Chapel with its outstanding architecture.
If you wish to stay, the ideal place to stay is the Bellavista house, an old neo-colonial mansion.

El Pueblo De Duggan: It is the most rustic of the three, ideal for the more adventurous visitors, lovers of hiking or country biking. It originated as a colony of Irish immigrants and was formed around the Central Argentinian Railway Station.

Stroll through the Parque Criollo Natural Reserve: it was created in 2020 in the grounds of the Parque Criollo and the

Ricardo Güiraldes Gaucho Museum. It was declared Environmental Heritage of San Antonio de Areco.
