A five-day adventure in El Chaltén, exploring historic Parador La Leona, fossil-strewn trails, trekking at Laguna de los Tres, and a journey to Cerro Torre. It concludes with scenic navigation on La Leona River and a Patagonia hike, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
We will pick you up for your accommodation in El Calafate and take you to El Chaltén (Driver only - private service) This day, we start from El Calafate to the Parador La Leona (historic site), where we stop for 15 minutes and continue our journey until we reach the slope of Cerro Los Hornos.
When we arrived in the forest, we began a 3-hour fossil exploration walk, including lunch time. The visitor will be able to see a large number of petrified trunks and fossil remains of different types of dinosaurs. The site is sheltered from the wind, is very dry and the weather conditions are generally very pleasant.
At the end of the walk, we return to Calafate along the same path. Ideal for people who like outdoor activities, adventure and discovering new places.

We left early in the morning from El Calafate to a small mountain town, famous for being the trekking capital of Argentina. We will drive from El Chaltén to the Poicenot camp (4 hours), and continue crossing the White River. From here on, the path continues with an upward slope of approximately 400 meters of unevenness to the Laguna de los Tres. The path ends on the old slope of the glacial moraine, with an extraordinary view of the lake and glacier De Los Tres. This is the closest view of the granite wall of Mount Fitz Roy and its peripheral spires. Going down the moraine, you can continue along a path that surrounds the lagoon to its mouth, where you can see the desolate Sucia lagoon and its hanging glaciers. At the end of the day we returned to El Calafate.

After breakfast at the hotel, the day will be free to continue enjoying El Chaltén and its beautiful landscapes. For this day we recommend the hike to Cerro Torre, which lasts 6 to 7 hours and can also be done on your own. This trail is of low difficulty and unlike the previous one, it runs along the Fitz Roy River until it reaches Laguna Torre, from where you have an impressive view of Cerro Torre.
The final self guided trek in the national park; it also starts from the door of your hotel! This trek takes you along less walked trails and takes you up to a 360° viewpoint. You can appreciate the Torre and Fitz Roy valleys, the mountains themselves, the Patagonian steppe and Viedma Lake – the largest lake of Argentina. In the last section of the trail you will come across different flora, found in these high plateaus and exposed areas, and if you look closely you will also spot marine fossils (ammonites and belemnites).
