Explore Ushuaia’s stunning wilderness with a guided visit to Tierra del Fuego National Park and an exclusive tour of Estancia Harberton and Martillo Island to see penguins up close. This journey through Argentina’s southern landscapes offers rich history, wildlife encounters, and scenic coastal hikes.
Upon your arrival at Tierra del Fuego airport, our guide will accompany you to the hotel in this new city. Ushuaia, the southernmost city on the continent, is located on the banks of the Beagle Channel.
Overnight in Patagonia Jarke, Garden Whyndam, Los Cauquenes Resort (or similar).
Meals Included: none.
Established in 1960 to preserve the southernmost region of forests along the Beagle Channel, Tierra del Fuego National Park covers nearly 69,000 hectares. Despite being one of the most popular excursions, we offer a unique experience: guiding our visitors in small groups along quiet trails and hidden corners of the forest.
We depart from Ushuaia along National Route 3 and stop at a panoramic viewpoint of the Beagle Channel. Then, we entered the Tierra del Fuego National Park and began our walk to the Lapataia Viewpoint. During our tours, we explore trails in this exceptional environment. We offer both morning and afternoon departures, with a duration of approximately 5 hours each. At the end of this half-day hiking experience, you'll have a full understanding of the peculiarities of this ecosystem.
The park is crossed by mountain ranges that divide the terrain into valleys with difficult access. Unlike other Andean-Patagonian parks, it has forests close to the sea coast, which extend for six kilometers along the Beagle Channel. This shapes Lapataia Bay, which in the Yamanian language is translated as “wooded bay” or “bay of good wood”.
Overnight in Ushuaia.
Meals Included: Breakfast.
We started our day in the morning, taking National Route 3 until we reached the junction with Route “J”. At this point, we head towards the coast, following the course of the Lasifashaj River valley, almost to its mouth in the Beagle Channel, in Brown Bay. Upon arrival at the Harberton Ranch, we are greeted with warmth. We explore the property, immersing ourselves in its rich history and its activity related to wool production.
Afterwards, we embarked on a Zodiac boat to visit a vast colony of Magellanic and Gentoo penguins. We move with respect and without disturbing these enchanting seabirds, while learning about their lives and conservation strategies. Back at the ranch, we headed to Cambaceres Bay to enjoy lunch. Then, we take a walk along the coast of the Lasifashaj River until we reach an energetic waterfall, formed by the narrowing of the river valley.
Available in the Summer season (October 1st - April 1st). Only private tours.
