This Argentina Chile tour through Patagonia and the Atacama Desert brings together some of South America’s most iconic landscapes over 17 days, from glaciers to desert skies. This trip is a perfect match for travelers who want the full range of Argentina and Chile in one journey, from city culture to wild, open landscapes. It starts in Buenos Aires with a city tour and a traditional tango show, then moves south to Ushuaia for off-road adventures through Tierra del Fuego’s lakes and forests. In El Calafate, the journey brings you face to face with the Perito Moreno Glacier and into the traditions of a working Patagonian estancia. From there, the trip crosses into Chile, exploring the towering peaks of Torres del Paine and navigating the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. The final stretch heads north to San Pedro de Atacama, where salt lagoons, rainbow-colored valleys, and some of the clearest night skies on Earth create a striking contrast to the ice fields of the south, before closing the trip in Santiago de Chile.

According on your arrival time, you can explore the town or visit one of its curious museums, like the Thematic Gallery of the Historia Fueguina, to see the more than 120 character life-size figures that will tell you all about the history of Ushuaia, or unearth the story of the scariest and dangerous criminals at the Prison Museum. And please, don't forget the local gastronomy! Ushuaia is the best place to eat seafood. We suggest you try the finger-licking Blake Hake.
Aujourd'hui, vous aurez une journée libre pour profiter d'Ushuaia.
At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel to head towards the Lakes. We will cross a glacial valley to the northeast towards the Garibaldi Pass, the only road pass that crosses the Fuegian Andes range. Near the northern end of the lake, we will begin a journey along the old roads of a sawmill that will soon turn into impassable trails for conventional vehicles, leading us to Lake Fagnano. In the forest near the shore, we will have free time to walk and explore while lunch is being prepared, which we will enjoy in a shelter located in a natural environment. Afterwards, we will return to Ushuaia and drop you off at your hotel. Note: During the winter season (July to September), there may be changes to the itinerary due to weather conditions.

The Atacama Salt Flat is the largest salt deposit in Chile and is formed by an enclosed basin that receives water from the San Pedro River and multiple ravines where it seeps in from the mountains. Inside the salt flat, we find the Cejar Lagoon, a beautiful and mystical turquoise-colored lagoon. Its high salt content creates a flotation effect, providing a relaxing and fun bathing experience.
Next, we will visit the Ojos del Salar, a small deep oasis of fresh water. These are two lagoons whose water comes from underground aquifers, surrounded by salt and some grasslands that foxes and flamingos use as hiding places.
Finally, we will visit Tebenquiche Lagoon, which is mostly dry, but its surface is not made of earth, mud, and rocks; instead, its plain is completely white and shines due to the salt crystals.
After the excursion, we will take you back to your hotel.
In the morning, we will pick you up from the hotel to enjoy a tour to the Rainbow Valley. This magical place was formed by tectonic movements and volcanic activity millions of years ago, serving as a meeting point between the Domeyko mountain range, the Salt mountain range, and the Andes.
You will witness a variety of colors in the valley hills, showcasing the richness of clays, salts, and minerals. The tour also includes a visit to the Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs, significant for their historical and geological value.
After the tour, we will drop you off in the center of Atacama, from where you can make your way back to the hotel.
At the designated time, you will make your way to the Meteorite Museum, our meeting point, to participate in an astronomy, planetary geology, and deep space astrophotography experience.
From Tuesday to Sunday, the museum is open, and you can join a guided tour where you'll interact with real meteorites collected from the Atacama Desert, cosmic rocks that narrate the formation processes of our solar system. If the museum is not open or you prefer not to take the tour, you can still see the best pieces on display at the observatory.
Then, using state-of-the-art telescopes, we will explore the deep sky, from planets to galaxies (depending on the time of year), and you will learn to connect the constellations of the southern hemisphere with the help of the guide and a laser pointer. You can keep this experience as a memory in an impressive photo under the stars.
At the end of the experience, a transportation service will take you back to your hotel.
Note: Please note that in case of clouds or bad weather, the activity will be suspended.
