Buenos Aires & Argentinië Hoogtepunten Tour | 16 Daagse Reis

We will create a typical family weekend barbecue, a local tradition that Argentina is famous for, tailored for foreign visitors to Buenos Aires. Our guide will take your semi-private group (no more than ten people) to the butcher, bakery, and wine store as we stroll through the cobblestone streets of Palermo Viejo, just as a local family would.

We will then return to a large private home (not a restaurant) and help prepare the roast. This hands-on experience includes learning how to prepare the meat, make salads, light a fire with charcoal and wood, and discover the neighborhood, with the option to revisit the stores for shopping later.

This tour offers the chance to learn barbecue customs and explore the city in a relaxed environment, culminating in a fantastic meal guided by the skilled hands of a master griller.

The tour will run from 10:30 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. In the evening, we will head to a bohemian-style milonga in the San Telmo neighborhood, where you will learn basic tango steps in a 1-hour class.

Afterward, you’ll put your new moves into practice, join locals, and enjoy watching talented dancers.

We will begin our journey in the Lerma Valley and continue to the town of El Carril, where we will take Provincial Route 33 into the Quebrada de Escoipe. This area of dense yungas gradually disperses as we gain altitude.

In the El Maray area, we will start the ascent of the famous Cuesta del Obispo, climbing 1,400 meters of elevation over just 20 kilometers. Along the way, we will enter Los Cardones National Park and soon reach the highest point of the slope, Piedra del Molino, standing 3,450 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking panoramic views.

We will then descend into the Calchaqui Valley, cross the endless Tin-Tin Straight—originally traced by the Incas as part of their remarkable road network—and pass through the town of Payogasta, where we will enjoy a stunning view of the Nevado de Cachi, a mountain range reaching 6,380 meters in height.

The white, colonial town of Cachi will come into view as we cross the Calchaqui River. There, we will have lunch and enjoy a free afternoon to explore this charming small town at our own pace.

Highlights include the central square, the old San José de Cachi church, and the Pío Pablo Díaz Archaeological Museum.

After spending the night in Cafayate, in the morning, we will visit one of the many wineries that produce here, with a tasting included, of course.

After lunch, the excursion will continue with a tour of the wonderful Quebrada de las Conchas: 83 kilometers of breathtaking views, due to the colors of its hills and the incredible shapes drawn over thousands and thousands of years by the erosion of water and wind. The Amphitheater, the Devil's Throat, the Obelisk, the Frog, the Monk, the Castles, and the Tres Cruces viewpoint are the most renowned attractions, although every meter of this path is unmissable.

Further on, to the east, we will see the gigantic mirror of the Cabra Corral reservoir, and finally, we will return to the city of Salta.

The endless white world of the Salinas Grandes will be at the center of this excursion, which will start in Salta and take National Route 9 to Purmamarca after taking the RN 52.

The Hill of the Seven Colors, the church of Santa Rosa de Lima (whose origins date back to 1648), and the colorful artisanal market in the central square are the town's most important attractions. After crossing them, we will set off to Las Salinas through the Cuesta de Lipán, a serpentine paved road that reaches 4170 meters above sea level in the Alto El Morado area.

From here, we will descend to the Puna, a long high plain located around 3500 meters above sea level. The Salinas Grandes, which were recently included among the Seven Natural Wonders of Argentina, constitute a place of singular beauty, with their immaculately white surface that contrasts with the intense blue sky. There, we will observe the salt extraction process and also the work of local artisans who make sculptures with the same material.

After lunch in Purmamarca, we will return to Salta along the ledge, the route that passes through a dense sector of yungas dotted with some reservoirs.

Embark on a journey through La Quebrada, a place declared a World Heritage Site, where the impressive landscapes and colors of the hills will be combined with the equally colorful cultures that inhabit this area.

This trip will be an opportunity to experience social contact and immerse yourself in ancient heritage. The tour will begin with the arrival in the town of Purmamarca to admire the majestic Hill of the Seven Colors.

Then, we will continue to the town of Tilcara. Afterwards, the tour will continue to Huacalera, where we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn pass, and we will be able to see the impressive Cerro de la Pollera de la Colla.

We will visit the Church of Uquía, where we will find the paintings of Los Ángeles Arcabuceros, an important work of art of the Cuzco school in the region. The tour will end in Humahuaca, where we will see the majestic Cathedral and the Monument to Independence (El Indio) by the sculptor Soto Avendaño.

After lunch, we will return to the starting point while observing the impressive Paleta del Pintor that frames the town of Maimará. This tour lasts a full day and is available every day.

This day, we will visit the Iguaçu National Park in Brazil. This park will surprise you because of the innumerable number of animals that can be observed and that are being worked on for their conservation.

In addition, we will be able to see many of the jumps on the Argentine side that contain 80% of them, and from here, we will get a unique panoramic view. Finally, we will see the Floriano Falls with an impressive view of the falls from the footbridges that are accessed by the elevator.

Return to the hotel.
