2 weeks in Argentina and Chile could be a short time, but it is true that it is the average time for vacations worldwide. Of course, if you could take more than 2 weeks, would be perfect becaus two weeks in Patagonia only would be ideally the minimum time to enjoy the best hiking and optimize your timing. When you travel through the different destinations, you have to consider between 2 to 3 days as minimum and then combine depending on what your preferences are. For example, if you like wine you could stay some more days in Mendoza or Salta, but in case you like trekking probably spend more time in El Chalten or Torres del Paine. The best is that, in case you let us know what you like, we’ll, be able to recommend you based in our experience.
If you are planning to organize a 10 days in Patagonia itinerary, then it can be enough to see a couple of destinations. Maybe you should skip to see all, but you can still include the main three places like Ushuaia, El Calafate and choose between El Chaltén or Torres del Paine for hiking in Patagonia. You can still use your 10 days to combine with other destinations but be aware that you’ll have to take longer flights and loose time traveling from one side to the other of the country.
Definitely if you are going to take a only 8 day Argentina itinerary and you see as much as you can, you should try to see Perito Moreno Glacier, Iguazu falls and Buenos Aires. then, depending flights and your schedule you could add a quick view of Mendoza to go taste some great wine as well. Don’t doubt to let us know your preferences, we’ll be happy to help you decide what’s the best for you based on your likes and requirements.
Based on our passengers feedbacks we have seen that the Surprising Patagonia itinerary is the best Patagonia itinerary 10 days ever. People say marvels about timing, experience and value. We recommend you have a look here.
For sure, the most important thing you should know is that Argentina is a large country and distances are not only quiet long but also connectivity sometimes can be tough, so the best is to book in advance, make your plans before the high season begin and make sure you can have your seats on planes and rooms available to highlight your travel experiences.
You may have asked yourself… How much money should I take on a 2 week trip? Of course that it will depend on what’s your style of traveler. Argentine is wide cheaper than Europe or USA. Out of your trip costs, in Argentina you propably will need an average of 4 or 5 dollars or euros per day for eating. If you like high end restaurants, a full dinner with wine pairing can cost from 60 to 100 US$ per person…. sometimes more, but you can also go to good restaurants for the half of that.
Public transport is also cheap comparing to the main capital cities around the world, so that’s not a cost that you should be worried about.
When you think of your trip cost for 2 weeks in Patagonia, then you should consider that, depending on what kind of hotels you book or if you are counting including flights and so, you can make a 14 days trip in Patagonia from €1500 to € 1800 as starting price. Argentina is a great country to enjoy a full itinerary of two weeks.
A two week patagonia itinerary is Never too long. You can spend your whole life in Patagonia. It is a vast territory of magical unspoiled lands, amazing views, wildlife, small towns, estancias, glaciers and incredible cities as Ushuaia at the end of the world or Puerto Madryn from where you can do whale watching for very reasonable prices. Two weeks is a good time to enjoy, but for sure if you can stay longer there will be always something new to see.
To travel for 2 weeks in Argentina will force you to take clothes for every kind of climate. Argentina has naturally warm temperatures, but when you go northern in Summer it can be very hot. or either very cold and windy in Patagonia in Winter. But that can sometimes vary and even more if you go from north to south in the same trip. Our recommendation is to travel light, temperatures vary but are not extreme we think is always better to take less than what you think it will be too much.
